Marathi Books Library

  1. SMM does not hold any books, it’s a distributed system where books go hand to hand between readers.
  2. SMM expects all SMM members to honor the rules and not to abuse this system which will cause to terminate this library initiative.
  3. In case of disputes, SMM’s word will be final.
  4. In case of a book without deposit is spoiled (including but not limited to writing, spilling, tearing pages etc), current lender will pay the value to the owner in good faith.
  5. SMM will not be liable to pay for the books spoiled by the readers, but will ensure to reach out to the parties involved to resolve the issue amicably.
  6. By signing up, you accept and adhere to all of the rules.
  1. Goto https://goo.gl/Pzbct8 and login with your SMM membership Gmail id and request access.
  2. If your membership email is not a Gmail id, please signup for Gmail with your membership email (click here and choose “Use my current email address instead”) and complete signup.
  3. Wait for access approval mail.
  4. Once approved, add your email to “Email ids” tab in the Google Sheets.
  1. Dinesh, who wants a book, goes to the list and locates the book.
  2. Checks the current lender (or owner)
  3. Finds that Suresh has the book (could be owner or a lender).
  4. Contact Suresh (Send email to Suresh, cc to library@seattlemm.org).
  5. Arrange for a book pickup.
  6. Ensure that book is in good shape.
  7. If not, take a picture of the damage and send to the owner.
  8. Responsibility is on Suresh (giver), who will update the list in the next lender column (and clear out his name) with new reader, Dinesh.
  9. Dinesh will confirm this update (this is important, otherwise Dinesh will end up being a lender without a book), and inform to the giver and library@seattlemm.org at once.
  10. Receive the book from Suresh.

  2. If book is not in good shape, Dinesh can choose not to take the book and should inform to the owner.
  3. While receiving the book, Dinesh will give deposit to Suresh (could be owner or a lender who gave deposit to owner).
  1. Dinesh who wants to return the book, contacts book owner (or next in the hold line)
  2. Dinesh hands over the book to new lender (see first question).
  3. Dinesh will receive deposit (if any) from next lender.
  1. Dinesh goes to the list and sees that Ganesh recently got it.
  2. Dinesh adds his name to the hold list.
  3. Ganesh has to pass on the book to whosoever is on top of the list after 30 days.
  4. Dinesh can contact Ganesh after 30 days.
  1. Naresh wants to submit a new book.
  2. Naresh confirms that book is in good shape and has no damages.
  3. Naresh sends details to library@seattlemm.org with book name.
  4. Anyone who wants that book, will contact directly to Naresh.

  2. Naresh will ensure to get the deposit from the book receiver.
  3. This deposit should be transferred to new owners as they receive the book.
  4. Original owner will return the deposit as he/she gets the book back.

  3. Current lender informs to library@seattlemm.org.
  4. SMM removes the entry.
