भारतीय संस्कृतीचा एक महत्त्वाचा भाग म्हणजे महर्षि वाल्मिकींनी संस्कृत मध्ये रचलेलं महाकाव्य रामायण.
महाकवी आणि आधुनिक वाल्मिकी ग दि माडगूळकरांनी हीच रामकथा ५६ गीतांमधून अस्सल मराठी मध्ये शब्दबद्ध केली. गीत रामायणाला सुरेल स्वरसाज चढवला होता संगीतसूर्य सुधीर फडके उर्फ बाबूजींनी. १ एप्रिल १९५५ ते १९ एप्रिल १९५६ असा वर्षभर पुणे आकाशवाणी वरून सादर होणारा हा एकमेव अभूतपूर्व संगीत कार्यक्रम होता.आम्हाला सांगण्यास अत्यंत आनंद होत आहे कि, इतक्या वर्षांनंतर आजही तितकंच ताजतवानं,सुमधुर आणि मराठी मनाला स्वर्गीय आनंद देणारं गदिमांचं हे गीतरामायण या वर्षीच्या गुढीपाडव्याच्या निमित्ताने आम्ही तुमच्या साठी घेऊन येत आहोत २ एप्रिल २०२२ या दिवशी संध्याकाळी ५:०० वाजता.गीत रामायण सादर करणार आहेत सिॲटल् मधील संगीत क्षेत्रात नावाजलेले सत्यजित लिमये आणि त्यांचा प्रतिभावान आणि अनुभवसंपन्न संगीत संच. अतिशय सुंदर सूत्रसंचालन आणि उत्कृष्ठ audio -video सादरीकरण असलेला हा कार्यक्रम मराठी रसिक प्रेक्षकांना नक्कीच मंत्रमुग्ध करेल.

The Ramayana in Songs is a collection of 56 (Marathi language) songs chronologically describing events from the Indian Hindu epic, the Ramayana. It was broadcast by All India Radio, Pune in 1955–1956, Written by the famous poet, lyricist and writer G. D. Madgulkar and the songs being composed by an accomplished Marathi singer-composer Sudhir Phadke, Geet Ramayana was acclaimed for its lyrics, music and singing. It is considered a “milestone of Marathi light music”.
Here in Seattle, the well known local musician and composer Satyajeet Limaye and his group will be performing the Same “Geet Ramayana” program on April 2nd, 2022 at 5 pm PST in Bahai center, Bellevue. Hello Supriya, The venue building has an elevator that goes from the garage level to the first level. The level has no stairs or different levels to maneuver that would cause problems for a wheelchair(s). Thanks
